Easy Way To Add Custom Robots.txt File in Blogger?

Robots.txt is a text file which contains few lines of simple code.

It is saved on the website or blog’s server which instruct the web crawlers on how to index and crawl your blog in the search results.
That means you can restrict any web page on your blog from web crawlers so that it can’t get indexed in search engines like your blog labels page, your demo page or any other pages that are not as important to get indexed.
Always remember that search crawlers scan the robots.txt file before crawling any web page.
Each blog hosted on blogger has its default robots.txt file which is something look like this:

User-agent: Mediapartners-Google

User-agent: *

Disallow: /search

Allow: /

This code is divided into three sections. Let’s first study each of them after that we will learn how to add custom robots.txt file in blogspot blogs.

User-agent: Mediapartners-Google

This code is for Google Adsense robots which help them to serve better ads on your blog. Either you are using Google Adsense on your blog or not simply leave it as it is.

User-agent: *

This is for all robots marked with asterisk (*). In default settings our blog’s labels links are restricted to indexed by search crawlers that means the web crawlers will not index our labels page links because of below code.

Disallow: /search

That means the links having keyword search just after the domain name will be ignored. See below example which is a link of label page named SEO.

And if we remove Disallow: /search from the above code then crawlers will access our entire blog to index and crawl all of its content and web pages.

Here Allow: / refers to the Homepage that means web crawlers can crawl and index our blog’s homepage.

Disallow Particular Post

Now suppose if we want to exclude a particular post from indexing then we can add below lines in the code.

Disallow: /yyyy/mm/post-url.html

Here yyyy and mm refers to the publishing year and month of the post respectively. For example if we have published a post in year 2013 in month of March then we have to use below format.

Disallow: /2013/03/post-url.html

To make this task easy, you can simply copy the post URL and remove the blog name from the beginning.

Disallow Particular Page

If we need to disallow a particular page then we can use the same method as above. Simply copy the page URL and remove blog address from it which will something look like this:

Disallow: /p/page-url.html

This code refers to the sitemap of our blog. By adding sitemap link here we are simply optimizing our blog’s crawling rate.

Means whenever the web crawlers scan our robots.txt file they will find a path to our sitemap where all the links of our published posts present.

Web crawlers will find it easy to crawl all of our posts.

Hence, there are better chances that web crawlers crawl all of our blog posts without ignoring a single one.

Note: This sitemap will only tell the web crawlers about the recent 25 posts. If you want to increase the number of link in your sitemap then replace default sitemap with below one. It will work for first 500 recent posts.

If you have more than 500 published posts in your blog then you can use two sitemaps like below:

Adding Custom Robots.Txt to Blogger

Now the main part of this tutorial is how to add custom robots.txt in blogger. So below are steps to add it.

Go to your blogger blog.

  1. Navigate to Settings ›› Search Preferences ›› Crawlers and indexing ›› Custom robots.txt ›› Edit ›› Yes
  2. Now paste your robots.txt file code in the box.
  3. Click on Save Changes button.
  4. You are done!

How to Check Your Robots.txt File?

You can check this file on your blog by adding /robots.txt at the end of your blog URL in the web browser. For example:

Once you visit the robots.txt file URL you will see the entire code which you are using in your custom robots.txt file

Why Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip might not be a disaster like the Fold

At Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, the company opened the show with perhaps the most anticipated announcement of them all: the Galaxy Z Flip.

And even though it's been a while since the Galaxy Fold debuted, we haven't forgotten about infamous #FoldGate – you know, that time when the Fold launched and a million problems erupted before it came to market?

We're hoping history doesn't repeat itself with the Z Flip. And, judging by the design and specs alone, we have high hopes.

Here are five reasons why.

1. A fun design in a compact form factor

The Z Flip comes in a clamshell form factor, so it's a lot more compact than the Fold. You can easily fit it into your jacket pocket or bag without taking up too much room. When it's unfolded, you can easily navigate the Z Flip with one hand.

Meanwhile, the Fold is a giant in comparison. The 7.6-inch display when it's unfolded feels like a tablet. I have small hands, which is why this thing intimidates me, but I'm sure even those with large hands can't operate the phone one-handed when it's unfolded.

Also, can we talk about the colors? The Z Flip looks stunning in Mirror Purple, Mirror Black, and Mirror Gold. Unlike the Fold, which is only available in Space Silver and Cosmos Black.

I like to think of the Z Flip as the cooler younger sister of the two who knows how to have fun and doesn't take herself too seriously.

2. A price that's a little easier to stomach

At $1,380, the Z Flip doesn't come cheap. But in comparison to the Galaxy Fold, which costs a whopping $2,000, it's not too bad.

I know the Z Flip has decent specs. And no one should pay over $1,000 for a phone that comes with the same camera sensors you'd find on a budget handset. But I'm pretty sure this is the cheapest foldable we'll get for a while, considering this smartphone form factor is still very new. And, while it remains to be seen, it looks a lot more promising than the $1,500 Motorola Razr.

The minute I saw how much the Fold cost, the allure of a foldable phone immediately vanished. And I assume that's probably what happened with a lot of other people, too.

If anything, the price of the Z Flip sets a lower barrier of entry for foldable phones, perhaps enough so that they'll actually become more mainstream.

3. Hello, durability

Rather than plastic, as featured on the Galaxy Fold, Samsung went with its very own bendable "Ultra Thin Glass." Sure, the company says using glass makes the device slimmer and less distracting without a notch. And that it also protects your screen from scratches. But we can all guess why they went with glass.

In case you forgot, early reviewers of the Fold accidentally damaged their displays because they peeled off the protective layer thinking it was a screen protector.

The Motorola Razr, which also features a plastic foldable display, makes it easy to place your finger in between the hinge and the plastic. So, it's not a great sign for durability.

It also feels a lot cheaper too. If I'm paying that much money for a phone, I want it to feel premium all around.

I'm also interested to see if it makes a difference when it comes to a crease.

4. Hideaway hinge

To add to the durability of the phone, the Z Flip has a "hideaway hinge," which features a cam and follower mechanism (CAM) to ensure that flipping and folding this thing feels stable.

I never thought about the fact that, without a strong hinge, one wrong flip could send the top half of this phone flying. It's pretty funny to picture, until you remember how much this phone costs.

According to Samsung, it can fold over 200,000 times. Which, might be a dig against Motorola.

The hinge also uses Samsung's new "sweeper technology" which comes equipped with nylon fibers that repel dirt and dust.

Seeing as how this technology is new, it's clearly something the Fold doesn't have. And, considering the fact that you might open your phone 200,000 times, I can only imagine the gross stuff that'll get stuck in the hinge every single time you fold it and unfold it.

5. A lot more versatile

One of the coolest things about the Z Flip is that the hinge allows it to stay open at different angles.

Basically, you can set it down like you would a laptop and then adjust the top half as far back as you'd like. The screen can then separate into two parts: a viewing area on the top half and an interaction area on the bottom.

So, if you're watching a video on YouTube, the video appears on top with the ability to comment on the bottom — all without interrupting the the viewing experience.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Fold does come with a multitasking mode that allows you to pull up three different apps at once in both landscape and portrait mode. As for its hinge, though, you can prop it up, sort of. But it's definitely meant to be held.

We'll obviously have to spend some time with the Z Flip before we come to a final conclusion, but I have faith that it'll set a high standard for foldable phones to come.

I mean, after the Fold, the only way Samsung can go is up, right?

Apple's warn : Don't let your precious Apple Card touch lesser credit cards

The Platonic Ideal of conspicuous consumption never looked so shiny — and Apple really wants you to keep it that way.

The much ballyhooed Apple Card had its official U.S.-wide, with eager early adopters rushing to praise the card's titanium body and laser-etched logo. And, because this is an Apple product, the geniuses of Cupertino released an elaborate set of cleaning and care instructions for the newest addition to their family of products.

Yes, you read that correctly. Cleaning and care instructions for a credit card.

"Place your card in a slot in your wallet or billfold without touching another credit card," reads the card-owning guide. "If two credit cards are placed in the same slot your card could become scratched."

That's right, don't even think about letting your precious Apple Card near that trash junking up the rest of your wallet.

But maybe you're not worried about that. You, as a true Apple stan, have set aside an entire sleeve of your leather wallet so that your Apple Card may rest easy on its own personal bed of lambskin.
Well, my good Jobs-head, you've still screwed up.

"Some fabrics," warns Apple, "like leather and denim, might cause permanent discoloration that will not wash off."

All is not lost, however. You can "moisten a soft, microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the card," instructs Apple.

But whatever you do, don't even think about using "window or household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, or abrasives to clean your titanium Apple Card."

Can you imagine? Like you'd have common household cleaners around.

So go ahead and order a special carrying case for that shiny bad boy. Because, much as with the Apple Pencil case, a little accessorizing goes a long way when lording status over your fellow man.

Syntax error — Windev tutorials

A syntax error was detected in the current code line. The reasons for this error can be:
A WLanguage keyword was improperly used.
A WLanguage symbol (brackets, ...) was improperly used.

Check and correct the syntax of the current line.

Using two incompatible WLanguage keywords

Code triggering the error

FOR WHILE MyVariable > 10
        Array1[MyVariable] = MyVariable+10

Possible correction
Use the appropriate keyword.

WHILE MyVariable > 10
        Array1[MyVariable] = MyVariable+10

Incorrect calculation expression

Code triggering the error
Use the appropriate keyword.

MyVariable = 10 ** 3
Possible correction

Delete the second " * ".
MyVariable = 10 * 3

Using a keyword without respecting its syntax: SWITCH without condition for example

Code triggering the error

CASE 2: ErrorText = "The name of the customer is not entered"
CASE 3: ErrorText = "The phone number of the customer is incomplete"

Possible correction
Specify the condition.

SWITCH ErrorCode
CASE 2: ErrorText = "The name of the customer is not entered"
CASE 3: ErrorText = "The phone number of the customer is incomplete"

Using an incorrect syntax for the functions

Code triggering the error

HReadFirst)Customer, Name)
Possible correction
Replace the closing bracket by an opening bracket.
HReadFirst(Customer, Name)

Windev tutorial for beginners — Starting WINDEV

WINDEV is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) allowing you to develop Windows applications in several fields: management, industry, health care, ... The developed applications can give access to information stored in the databases.
As you go through this tutorial, you will learn to create your own applications (with or without database) and to improve them by using the features proposed by WINDEV.

Starting WINDEV

Start WINDEV 22 (if not already done).
If WINDEV 22 was never started before, a welcome wizard is displayed:
  • If you worked with an earlier WINDEV version, this wizard allows you to retrieve the existing
    con gurations.
  • If you are a new user, this wizard allows you to con gure your environment. This allows you to
choose the screen con guration used and to con gure the Control Centers. See the online help for more details.
If WINDEV 22 was already started, identify yourself if necessary. The development environment starts. The home window is displayed. This home window is used to: • create a project,
    • open an existing project,
    • open an example,
    • open one of the projects found in the tutorial.
Let's take a closer look at the development environment of WINDEV. To do so, from the home window:
    • Click "Tutorial".
    • Double-click "Full application (with windows)".
    • The corresponding project is opened in the editor.

The editor

The development environment of WINDEV includes a specific interface and several editors allowing you to create the different elements of your applications.
For example, the window editor is used to create windows, the report editor is used to create reports, ...

All the editors are using the same environment:

1. Menu of editors, displayed in the shape of a ribbon (we'll see how to use it in the next paragraph). 2. Current editor (window editor here). This space allows you to view the element currently created or modified in WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).
3. Panes. The WINDEV interface includes several horizontal and vertical panes allowing you to quickly access different types of information. For example:

•the "Project explorer" pane (displayed on the right) is used to list all the project elements by category.
•the search pane (displayed at the bottom) is used to perform searches in the entire project and in its elements.
These panes can be hidden by pressing [CTRL] + [W] if necessary.
4. Bar of opened documents. This bar is used to quickly view all the opened elements. A simple click on the button corresponding to the element displays it in its own editor.

The menu bar (ribbon) in details

The menu bar of WINDEV is presented like a ribbon. This ribbon includes panes in which the options of the editors are grouped.
We are going to take a closer look at the main elements of the ribbon, as well as how we will be using it in this tutorial.

The different ribbon elements
The ribbon includes 3 areas:
•the button area, on the left (1).
• the pane area, at the top (2).

The button area (1)

The button area groups the quick access buttons. These buttons are used to perform the most usual operations, common to all the editors: save, open, create, ...
The 3 logos found at the top of this area are specific:

• The product logo is used to display the "About" window, the custom menus and the drop-down menus found in the former interface of the editors (version 17 and earlier).
• The 2 other logos are used to restore the toolbars and the drop-down menus found in the former interface of the editors (version 17 and earlier).

The pane area (2)

The different ribbon panes are used to access the options of the different editors for the current project. Several types of panes are available:
• the current pane: The tab of the pane appears in white and a light orange line is displayed at the top of the tab.
• the popup panes, speci c to the current element: The name of the pane is displayed in blue. • the available panes: The name of the pane is displayed in black.
Depending on the selected environment theme (light or dark), the colors used to identify these different panes are different. See “The environment colors”.

The pane area (3)

The options displayed in the ribbon differ according to the selected pane. Several types of options are available:
•Options to check
•Buttons to click
• Button with arrow used to expand the options. Two types of buttons with arrow are available:

• the buttons with arrow used to expand a menu
• the buttons with arrow used to expand a menu (click on the arrow) or to perform a default

action (click on the button icon).
The options are organized by group. Each group of options has a name and it can also include a group button . This button is used to perform a specific action according to the current group: displaying the description of the current element, displaying the help, ...
